Dr. E.V. Prabhu Shankar MBBS, AB (Pediatrics) (USA), AB (Neonatology) (USA), FAAP
Dr. Prabhu Shankar finished his medical education at the prestigious Stanley Medical College, Chennai (2001 – 2007). He went to the US in 2008 where he worked at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA as a research associate till 2010 under the guidance of Dr. Lakshmanan Krishnamurti who is currently the Chief, Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Yale University - School of Medicine and Dr. David Peters, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Under their guidance, he did extensive research work which helped him to advance his research career.
He then underwent Pediatric residency training at one of the world renowned centers in the US, Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY from 2010 – 2013. Further, he did Neonatology fellowship training at University of Alabama, Birmingham, AL (2013 – 2016) under Dr. Waldemar Carlo. UAB along with Children’s Hospital of Alabama has state-of-the-art, all private room NICU which has a combined capacity of 175 neonatal beds. It is the largest all private room NICU in the US and is one of the largest of any kind in the world. With this background experience and knowledge, he came to Tirupur, India which is his home town to establish a facility that can transform the healthcare practice in the region.
